Ho ho ho!
It's actually been ages since we put up a Christmas tree. So to make up for it, I baked a cake! A chocolate chiffon cake, to be exact. I iced it so, so that it may somehow look like those Christmassy door wreaths that people hang during Christmas.
It was fun and hard at the same time decorating the cake. Well what did I expect...I am a rookie at these kinds of things, after all. Or was. Haha! Just kidding. I made a lot of mistakes. Good thing I was able to cover them up pretty well ;)
I wanted the pink buttercream to be red, but the supermarket that we went to only had what they called 'rose red' and orange. Turns out that rose red was pink, but oh well. The green icing was bought from my Singapore trip, and when it sort of dried up, suprisingly went so well against the softness cake and the pink buttercream :9
Not-so-Christmas-themed cupcakes made from spare batter :9

These taste soooo much better than they look, really. And yes, I know the cupcakes are more Valentine-themed than Christmas-themed. But the taste is really good, therefore I'm quite proud it all went well. We were actually in a hurry to make it in time for the last mass of Christmas. It was quite hectic in the kitchen.
To close my posts about Christmas, here's a few pics of how beautiful our local church looked like yesterday and the day before :) The church people did a great job decorating the place! Plus, there were girls dressed in Santa costumes handing out treats to everyone going out and like, three Santas standing around the tree, attracting kids to take photos with them. Even though it was drizzling then :') There were also kids who were caroling on a little stage, and free food given out!
We then proceeded to eating dinner: tonkotsu ramen and pot stickers (餃子; ぎょうざ- gyouza) at a newly-opened branch of Hakata Ikkousha. They have by far, one of the best ramen broths ever. IMO. There's quite a rivalry between Ikkousha and the ramen place across it. There are lots of ramen shops in the district, and I can't imagine how tough business must be for them :-/
We ate the cakes for dessert then, complete with music played by my piano :9
I hope everyone's had a merry day ;)

Now listening: The Kiss - The Last of the Mohicans OST (I really want to hear a bagpipe play this live >_<)
Those cupcakes look very delicious. I wish I could try. And I love that song! Nice blog :)
