Summer 2013: Niagara Falls

Hey there!

Seeing Niagara Falls in person was breathtaking. A lot of people have said that the views from the Canadian side is better, although I can't exactly attest to that because I haven't seen the falls from the American side. Tell me what it's like in the comments if you've been here or the American side!

We were blessed to see a full rainbow over the falls in the afternoon. Truly, it was a wonder and a sight that we would never forget.

The beautiful Horseshoe Falls and all the spectators.

My 'Maid of the Mist' poncho. By just viewing the falls from Table Rock Centre you and your equipment might get a bit wet because of the pretty intense mist carried by the wind, imagine being in a boat heading towards it! It was awesome being in the super-crowded-with-poncho-clad-peeps boat and getting so close to the falls. Needless to say, we were showered as we approached the falls! I'm glad I wore waterproof shoes, because my feet did get wet the most. Another attraction that will most likely get your feet and face wet (heads up!) is Niagara's Fury, which is an indoor theatre attraction.

We did all the attractions - Maid of the Mist, White Water Walk, and Journey Behind the Falls. The package included the fare for WEGO buses for two days. The ponchos were ours to keep, and since it had the name of the attraction on it we couldn't find the heart to throw them. They would later prove to be useful against the downpour that we faced in America later in the trip. That day, we took home three types of ponchos in total. No ponchos needed for White Water Walk.

In Journey Behind the Falls, we got to pass through tunnels and there were like, two openings from which we can see the falls from behind. The water was scarily fast and it was very cool :D

The American side - American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls

The fireworks were amazing! At the bottom right you can see the American side all lit up :)

Clifton Hill

White Water Walk. Here you can see the raging class 6 rapids, which are the fastest, most dangerous rapids in the world.

Will be back with a post about Montreal soon! Thanks for reading, and please do leave comments :)
